Faculty of Business
The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) offers students a vibrant learning experience in the faculties of Arts, Business, Education, Nursing, Science, Sustainable Design Engineering, and Veterinary Medicine. Masters and doctoral programs are available through the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Established in 1969, UPEI is home to more than 4,600 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, 26 per cent of whom are international students. Students have access to outstanding programs and experiential learning opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential in the classroom, the workplace, and the greater community.
Our faculty are renowned nationally and internationally for their teaching and research. Among them are six National 3M Teaching Award winners and five funded research and endowed chairs, including a Canada Excellence Research Chair in Aquatic Epidemiology. With a student-faculty ratio of 16 to 1, students and professors get to know one another personally.
With roots stemming from two founding institutions—Prince of Wales College and Saint Dunstan’s University—UPEI has a reputation for academic excellence, research innovation, and creating positive impacts locally, nationally, and internationally. The only degree-granting institution on PEI, UPEI is a key contributor to the growth and prosperity of the province.
Our programs
The UPEI Faculty of Business offers undergraduate degrees in business administration (four-year and accelerated), tourism and hospitality, and business studies, and a public administration certificate and diploma program. Students can specialize in accounting, finance, marketing, organizational management, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality, and international business. They also have the opportunity to gain work experience while earning course credits through the Faculty’s Co-op program. Graduate degrees include a Master of Business Administration in Global Leadership and an executive Master of Business Administration. The executive MBA offers specialized streams of study in biotechnology management and entrepreneurship, and innovative management.

Charlottetown offers outdoor and indoor activities for everyone year-round—from sailing, hiking, and skiing to concerts, theatre performances, and artisan and farmers’ markets. And the city is only a short distance from PEI’s world-famous beaches and golf courses. The Confederation Trail and Victoria Park provide valued green space to residents and visitors.
