University of New Brunswick – Saint John
Faculty of Business
The University of New Brunswick (UNB) was established in 1785 and is the oldest English-language university in Canada. UNB Saint John is a small college, attractively situated overlooking the Kennebacasis River, with a total enrolment of about 2000 students.
UNB Saint John Faculty of Business offers three degree programs: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA); the Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM); and an intensive one-year MBA degree program.
Our programs emphasize experiential education. Saint John is a lively city with an active civic culture and the Faculty of Business partners with local industry and community groups on research and experiential learning opportunities for our students.
UNB Saint John’s BBA Co-op Work program is accredited by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL) and provides relevant work experience for students to complement their coursework as well as a complete program of professional development workshops and networking events for students each year. Ninety percent of students who participate in the co-op program graduate with a full-time job offer in their field in hand.
Students in the MBA Program do a nine-week Business Consulting Project with a local company or community organization which provides an opportunity to apply classroom learning to real business challenges.
The Faculty is also accredited by the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources New Brunswick.

Our city
Saint John is a great place to study Business. It’s a coastal city of approximately 100,000 and home to large multinational corporations as well as a diverse range of small and medium size enterprises including a thriving tourism industry and a busy industrial port.
It’s the oldest city in Canada, founded in 1785 (the same year UNB itself was established). The historic Uptown district fronts the harbour and offers restaurants, shops, galleries and a beautiful restored theatre which hosts a regular schedule of plays, concerts and vintage movie nights. Harbour Station is home to the Saint John Sea Dogs major junior hockey team and the Riptide professional basketball team – both fun nights out.
The small communities in the surrounding area offer ample recreational opportunities to explore the Canadian landscape and sample Maritime culture.
