The AACSB-accredited Sobey School of Business in Halifax, Nova Scotia is proud of its pivotal role as Atlantic Canada’s largest business school: we make an impact with purpose. Located at Saint Mary’s University, which was founded in 1802, we balance our history of tradition with our pursuit for innovation. Through active learning and the creation and mobilization of scholarship, we prepare citizens of the world to lead sustainable, entrepreneurial businesses and communities. Our programs
Our programs offer students the ability to pursue their own purpose. Our Bachelor of Commerce program offers 10 majors that cover the range of business functions, including a customizable option. Notable are our highly popular finance and accounting majors, as well as the unique entrepreneurship and global business majors. Our flagship MBA offers four areas of concentration: consulting, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship, social enterprise and sustainability. We also offer specialized Masters’ programs in accounting, technology entrepreneurship and innovation, management of co-operative businesses, applied economics, business analytics and finance. A high calibre PhD in Business Administration rounds out our academic programs.
Our city
The Atlantic Region is filled with forests, fresh and salt water beaches, salt marshes and lush orchards and fields. The Bay of Fundy, centrally located in the region, boasts the highest tides in the world. The cities of the region are filled with history, arts and vibrant culture.
You may want to experiment with unique Atlantic Canadian flavours and dishes such as wild blueberry grunt, donairs, Atlantic lobster and Digby scallops, spruce beer and maple ice wine.
Halifax boasts seven universities. Halifax is the economic and cultural centre of the region.
