The Faculty of Business and Information Technology (FBIT) is committed to the success of its students and takes pride in knowing our graduates will make a strong impact in the communities. We are proud our world-class teaching and research labs which contain state-of-the-art hardware and software from leading industry partners. Our labs offer student and researchers amazing opportunities to learn and study technology in different domains such as business analytics, marketing, finance, networking, game design, health informatics, IT security, user experience (UX), virtual reality (VR) and human-robot interaction.
Our programs
We offer several options for students to specialize in the different areas of business and/or IT, with a strong emphasis on experiential learning opportunities resulting in job-ready graduates. Many of our majors lead to professional designations, and we partner with other faculties from Ontario Tech to offer specialized graduate programs.
Bachelor of Commerce: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management, Technology Management, and Co-Op.
Bachelor of Information Technology: Game Development and Interactive Media, Networking and Information Technology Security, Technology Management.
Graduate Degrees: Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Master of Business Analytics and AI, Masters of Information Technology Security, Masters of Health Sciences in Health Informatics, Masters of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Computer Science.
Our city
Oshawa is a growing community 45 minutes from Toronto – the economic center of Canada. Once known as the Automotive Capital of Canada, the city has expanded its economy and the population has grown to create a diverse labour force in areas such as education, advanced manufacturing, health technology, logistics, energy and IT.
Oshawa hosts a large variety of attractions and entertainment opportunities for its community members. The city is a bike-friendly community and has extensive trails. There are annual festivals and events, museums, art galleries, sports venues, a wide range of dining options and more!
